How big is the church?

You will normally be worshiping with about 35 to 40 other people on any given Sunday. Our choir makes up a third of that number.

Our congregation is made up of people from all walks of life and backgrounds. During the fellowship time after worship, you may visit with someone who is or was an active contractor, clerk, teacher, engineer, secretary, doctor, social worker, home maker, professor, administrator, cook, business owner, roofer, grief counselor, air force pilot, helicopter pilot, nurse, store manager, member of the military, artist, salesperson, photographer, lawyer, school counselor, pizza delivery person, or psychologist. It makes for interesting conversations.

What is the worship style at New Hope?

Our style is reverent and joyful. We follow a Reformed order of worship that involves members of the congregation in many parts of the service. After all, as Presbyterians, we see worship as the service of the people. Our worship service includes prayers, hymns, responsive readings, musical offerings, scripture reading, a sermon, a collection of offerings, an affirmation of faith, and always concludes with a prayer and a blessing.

What’s the preaching like at your church?

In the sermon, our pastor interprets the Bible reading or readings of the day in view of our life here and now, our joys, sorrows, fears, and reasons for gratefulness.

May a visitor take communion?

The sacrament of communion is offered to all who trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Participation in communion is an act of conscience on the part of the believer and is especially encouraged for every baptized person.
