About the event
This year’s cantata will be Vivaldi’s Gloria featuring soloists, Dr. Darla Diltz and Dr. Grace Edgar. Dr. Diltz is Visiting Professor of Voice at MSU Texas. She earned her Doctorate in Musical Arts from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Edgar earned her Doctorate in Vocal Performance from the University of Houston. She has sung with the Arizona Opera and the Key West Pops Symphony among others.
Alyssa Ham, collaborative pianist for New Hope, will be assisted by eight additional instrumentalists. Stephanie Cannon, violin 1, Christelle Billan, violin 2, Gina Menden, viola, Arianna Menden, cello, Nancy Cook, bass, Dr. Sarah Dunbar, oboe, Emily Tourgemann, trumpet, and Dwight Ham, guitar.
The New Hope Choir will be under the direction of Music Director, Dr. Susan Harvey. Dr. Harvey is Associate Professor of Music at MSU Texas. Additional choral pieces during the concert will include Carol of the Bells, Joy in the Morning, O Holy Night, and Revelation 19.
